The annual Pumpkin Trail will be returning to Lincoln this year, alongside a whole host of new events and activities. Our museums, galleries and play centres have got you covered for those cold, rainy days, and if you need to warm up, the city's many cafes and restaurants will be on hand for hot drinks and seasonal snacks.
Away from the city, you'll find even more to enjoy. Autumn is the perfect season to experience the wonderful Lincolnshire countryside - so grab your wellies and get exploring! From pumpkin patches to seasonal farmers markets, you will find a plethora of autumnal events on offer around the county.
Monsters are invading the city!
Head to Lincoln during October half term for a week of Monster Madness.
This October, you will get the chance to see Lincoln from a whole new perspective...
During the half-term break, a whole host of monsters are set to invade Lincoln's rooftops. Cast your eyes to the sky to catch a glimpse of these gruesome characters!
There will be eight giant inflatable monsters dotted around the city, from Castle Square, all the way down to the University of Lincoln.
As night falls, the monsters will become illuminated so you can follow their glow for a spooktacular evening tour around the city.
Look out for some extra special guests during the weekend; On Saturday 28 October, the Ghostbusters will be out and about protecting the city streets, and on Sunday 29 October, there will be a 'Monster Mash' flash mob in the Cornhill Quarter!
Pick your own perfect pumpkin from Pecan's Patch at Bransby Horses this October!
Pecan's Pumpkin Patch is back for the autumn season at Bransby Horses.
This popular patch will be open throughout the month of October so visitors can choose the perfect Halloween squash to take home with them.
After picking your pumpkin, you can enjoy a walk around the 300 acre site which has an excellent Visitor Centre, café, donated goods and gift shops and a children’s play park.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the charity’s work.
Superheroes assemble!
In addition to Pecan's Pumpkin Patch, Bransby Horses are also hosting an adventurous Superhero Quest this October!
A magical spell has been cast over the village and it’s now frozen in time! Bransby need superheroes far and wide to work together to lift the spell.
Young superheroes must complete their mission to find the infinity stones hidden around site and find the colour of each one. Once all the stones on your answer sheet have been coloured, the spell will be lifted and your official superhero name will be revealed...
No booking required, just simply ask in the Gift Shop. Activities costs just £3.50 per child which includes a prize and activity sheet.
Take your pick of the Doddington Hall Pumpkin Patch this October!
What makes the perfect pumpkin? Do you like to find the largest one, the roundest one or a gnarled one?
Choose a pumpkin to take home to carve a creepy scene for your doorstep, or pick up some delicious seasonal recipe ideas from the Farm Shop.
Follow the signs to the pumpkin patch via the Kitchen Garden. Wellies are recommended as the patch can get muddy. Halloween fancy dress is encouraged!
East of England’s largest and original Pumpkin Patch is returning for 2023 - and it's bigger and better than ever!
Autumn is around the corner and the events team at Bell’s Pumpkin Patch are hard at work creating fantastic new features and displays for visitors to enjoy at their 2023 event!
Bell's grow over 300 varieties of pumpkins on site, from original orange pumpkins, to specialist squashes, to great gourds of all different shapes and sizes! Visit the Pumpkin Market in Bell’s Gardening Outlet and you will find plenty of display inspiration and recipe cards to take home.
This year's patch offers a fun filled family day out for all ages, with a whole host of things to do:
- Pick your own pumpkins from two large patches
- Get creative in the pumpkin carving tent
- Grab a selfie at the brand new photo stations
- Take the opportunity to fire Harold - the UK's largest pumpkin cannon
- Have fun in the play area, complete with bouncy inflatable pumpkins and potato catapults
- Enjoy the funfair rides, tackle the assault cause and play some garden games
- Get your face painted
- Explore the Maize Maze
There will also be opportunities to take a guided tractor tour (weather dependent) and learn about how Bell's grow millions of pumpkins per year - and the work that goes in to it from field to fork.
In addition to the pumpkin patch, the Makers Market will be returning this year - with food, art and craft sellers exhibiting their wares throughout the event. Expect local spirits, fudge, cakes and bakes and much more in the food tent as well as jewellery, candles, home decor, and a variety of gifts.
Foodies can enjoy a variety of food and drink from the catering court - including Vegan, Vegetarian, Dairy Free and Gluten Free options..
The event is dog friendly so do bring your pooch along to the pumpkin patch. The catering area will have dog bowls on hand, and you will find some yummy treats for four legged friends in the Makers Market too.
